How would you describe your work?
A central theme in my work is the perception of our world in pictures and its tradition.
Starting from the classical subjects of painting history such as still life, nude painting, landscape etc., questions are raised about illusion, reality, the image and their effects on social issues and conventions.
Elements from the real world, but also film, photography, painting history etc. are brought together on the canvas and a conglomerate of individual observations emerges which always threatens to tip over a little and is usually only held together by the strong composition.
Wie würdest du deine Arbeit beschreiben?
Ein zentrales Thema in meiner Arbeit ist die Wahrnehmung unserer Welt in Bildern und deren Tradition.
Ausgehend von den klassischen Sujets der Malereigeschichte wie Stillleben, Akt, Landschaft etc. werden Fragen aufgeworfen nach Illusion, Realität, dem Bild und deren Auswirkungen auf gesellschaftliche Fragestellungen und Konventionen.
Elemente aus der realen Welt, aber auch Film, Foto, Malereigeschichte etc. werden auf der Leinwand zusammengetragen und es entsteht ein Konglomerat aus Einzelbeobachtungen, welches immer auch ein wenig zu kippen droht und meist nur durch die starke Komposition zusammengehalten wird.

Which materials and techniques do you work with?
Actually I use everything that seems suitable to convey what I want to say or ask.
In most cases this is acrylic on canvas, but besides pen on paper there are also photographs, tattoos and etchings.
Mit welchen Materialien und Techniken arbeitest du?
Eigentlich benutze ich alles was mir geeignet scheint das zu transportieren, was ich sagen oder fragen will.
In den meisten Fällen ist das Acryl auf Leinwand, aber neben Stift auf Papier gibt es auch Fotografien, Tattoos und Radierungen.

Is there an approach you take to new works and how do you work through the process?
I always draw what I see, everywhere.
Sometimes individual objects, sometimes compositions, sometimes also just strokes. These drawings then become paintings or pictorial elements.
Gibt es einen Ansatz, mit dem du dich einer neuen Arbeit annährst und wie ist deine Arbeitsweise im weiteren Prozess?
Ich zeichne immer und überall was ich sehe.
Manchmal einzelne Objekte, manchmal Kompositionen, manchmal auch nur Striche. Aus diesen Zeichnungen werden dann Gemälde oder Bildelemente.

What influences do you have in your work?
Everything I see or perceive that seems suitable for use in the work. This can be on the internet or in a museum, but also in a restaurant or in books.
Welche Einflüsse wirken sich auf deine Kunst aus?
Alles was ich sehe oder wahrnehme was mir zur Verwendung im Bild geeignet scheint. Das kann im Internet oder im Museum sein, aber auch im Restaurant oder in Büchern.

What is your motivation to work artistically?
I can hardly imagine doing anything else.

Was it always obvious to you that you would become an artist?
Drawing and painting was always what I did every day. It was clear to me quite early on that I wanted to do something with it professionally. The real decision to become/be a freelance artist was made when I realised that it was the only way for me to work and live the way I want
War es für dich schon immer ersichtlich, dass du Künstlerin wirst?
Zeichnen und malen war jedenfalls schon immer das was ich täglich gemacht habe. Dass ich Beruflich irgendwie etwas damit machen will war mir recht früh klar. Die wirkliche Entscheidung freier Künstler zu werden/sein habe ich getroffen als mir klar wurde, dass es die einzige Möglichkeit für mich ist so zu arbeiten und zu leben wie ich will.
